Welcome to the Ultimate K-Swap Guide! 🚀
If you're looking to transform your Honda Civic EJ9 or EK into a powerhouse, you’ve come to the right place. This guide will walk you through the legendary K-Swap—arguably the best pound-for-pound engine swap out there! Not only does it unlock insane performance, but it’s also one of the most tunable setups you can build. Let’s dive in and get your Civic ripping!
Let’s Get This K-Swap Started! 🔥
First things first—you need your Honda Civic EJ9 or EK as the foundation for this beastly transformation. But that’s just the beginning! To bring your K-Swap dream to life, you’ll need to gather a serious list of parts. Here’s what you’ll need to start piecing together your ultimate build:
OEM PARTS
K20 Engine with sensors (I opted for K20a2)
Gearbox (NPR3)
K20 Drive shafts (Req's B Series Outers)
K20 Starter motor
K20 Alternator
K20 Engine Loom
K20 Charge Harness
Stock ECU (EP3 PRA)
DC5 or CRV shifter with Cables
You'll need a complete Honda Civic EG subframe, including bolts, steering rack, lower control arms, and lower suspension arms. The stock EJ9/EK subframe won’t be compatible with the EKK2 engine mounts, so swapping to the EG setup is essential for a proper fit.
AFTERMARKET PARTS
The original EJ / EK engine mounts will not work with K20 engine so you will have to use specific K Swap engine mounts, these engine mount kits are designed to work with the K20 engine, EJ / EK chassis and EG subframe, there are manufactures for these mounts.

To enable you to use the OEM DC5 / CRV shifter you will need a either a K-Tuned or Hybrid Racing shifter mounting base, this allows you to mount the DC5 / CRV shift directly onto the top of the exhaust tunnel on the EJ / EK chassis, without the need for cutting.
